Inner city

Densely built, from 18th-century wooden houses on Södermalm and the stone city of Vasastan and Östermalm to Hammarby Sjöstad, where construction began in 1994. Södermalm, Östermalm, Vasastan, Kungsholmen and Norrmalm are inside the congestion tax zone, and loading is allowed where only parking is prohibited.

West of the city

Bromma's villa districts and garden suburbs, Vällingby — the first ABC town, with its centre opened in 1954 — and Kista, home to Ericsson's head office. Furthest out is Ekerö municipality and its 140 islands.

Nacka & Värmdö

From Sickla and Nacka strand close to the city out to Stavsnäs winter harbour, where the archipelago boats leave from. The road towards Södermalm passes the Danvikstull toll station.

North of the city

From Solna and Sundbyberg next to the inner city to Täby along the Roslagsbanan line, Märsta in Sigtuna municipality and Norrtälje in Roslagen. None of them are inside the congestion tax zone — the toll stations are all in the City of Stockholm.

South Stockholm

Gamla Enskede, Stockholm's first garden suburb, 1940s Årsta and the ABC town of Farsta, whose centre opened in 1960. Around 8,000 new homes are planned on Årstafältet.

South of the city

From villa towns such as Stuvsta and Tullinge to Flemingsberg, which Huddinge designates a regional city centre, and Södertälje, where the E4 and E20 meet.
