Looking for office moving?
What you need
Small, sturdy moving boxes — china gets heavy fast
Packing paper or tissue paper, plenty of it
Bubble wrap for the most fragile items
Tape and a thick pen to label the boxes
How to pack
Put a layer of crumpled paper in the bottom of the box
Wrap each item separately — glasses, cups and bowls
Stand plates on their edge, close together, never lying in a stack
Fill glasses and cups with paper and stand them upside down
Heaviest at the bottom, lightest on top — and fill every gap so nothing slides
Close the box and feel it: if it rattles, add more paper
Label the boxes
Write FRAGILE and an arrow showing which way is up, ideally on two sides of the box. Also write the room, for example kitchen, so the box ends up in the right place straight away.
Who is responsible if something breaks?
Under BOHAG 2010, the moving industry's standard terms, you're responsible for damage caused by shortcomings in packing you did yourself. If the movers pack, they take that responsibility for what they pack.
If you have a lot of fragile things, it can be worth letting us pack the kitchen and the most delicate items — you pack the rest.
Let us pack
A packer packs about 7–10 boxes an hour. You borrow boxes and packing materials from us.

💡 Common questions about packing glass and china
Should plates be packed lying down or standing up?
Standing on their edge, close together with paper in between. That way they handle knocks better than in a flat stack.
Who is responsible if the china breaks?
If you packed yourself, you're responsible for damage caused by the packing, under BOHAG 2010. If we pack, we take responsibility for what we pack.
Can you pack just the kitchen?
Yes. You can book packing for just some rooms, such as the kitchen with all the china.
Does packing qualify for the RUT deduction?
Yes, packing is work and qualifies for the RUT deduction. Materials don't.
