About Pandy

The service company that made a grey industry colourful

Pandy is a service company in Stockholm that helps homes and companies with moving, cleaning, handyman work, window cleaning and storage. But the story of Pandy began with a rejection from the Swedish Companies Registration Office in 2016. Since then, Pandy has had one goal: to make a grey industry colourful. This is the story of how Pandy became Pandy.

2016

The Städpatrullen that never was

On an unusually sunny autumn day in 2016, the letter from the Swedish Companies Registration Office arrived. The company was registered, the idea was real. But in the envelope, in red letters: REJECTED.

The name “Städpatrullen AB” (“The Cleaning Patrol”) didn't go through. A quick search showed why — there were already several cleaning companies with that name. They had barely started and were already facing their first setback.

In hindsight, the rejection was a stroke of luck. Städpatrullen would have locked the company into a corner with nothing but cleaning. Pandy was going to be something bigger: a service company for the whole home and the whole office.

The name

From Handy Pandy to Pandy

“What should we call ourselves instead, Andreas?” asked Douglas Hållstrand, co-founder and CEO. The other co-founder, Andreas Lindström — already known by the nickname “Andy Pandy” — didn't even have time to answer before Douglas came up with it himself: “Let's go with Handy Pandy AB.”

The name was approved right away. Then came the next twist: a little research showed that “handy pandy” meant something completely different — and highly inappropriate — in other countries. Not a name to have if you want to go international one day.

The third co-founder, Ludwig “Ludde” Hallstensson, was given the task of rebranding. But by then the employees had already started calling themselves “Pandys”. It sounded good. The friendly Pandy logo was created, and a colourful brand was born: Pandy.

All of this happened in a cramped studio apartment on Jungfrugatan in Stockholm, the company's first office.

The brand

A service company that looks like a design company

Pandy has never wanted to be just another service company. The mission has always been for customers to feel they've found a life hack. Not just convenience, but something to brag about. More time for a hobby or a person you love is worth talking about.

“Pandy believes that every home and workplace deserves passion.”
  1. Peace of mind

Fixed prices and the right insurance, always.

  2. Service

Customers should feel they made the right choice.

  3. Innovation

Pandy should be at the forefront of design and technology.

The tone shows in the details. The packages are called Plus and Premium, never Standard — because Pandy's standard should always be a little extra. And Pandy doesn't brag about being the best; Pandy brags about having the best customers.

Visually, the brand has kept the same thread: the green panda, yellow type, a retro, slightly grainy feel and lots of humour. On the website, Pandy even shows a handyman with a bandaged thumb. The result: four stitches.

Take a closer look at the vans and boxes. They say “FLYTTBIL” (moving van) and “FLYTTLÅDA” (moving box), in quotation marks. It's a tribute to the designer Virgil Abloh, one of the big inspirations behind Pandy's brand. He made quotation marks his signature by labelling everyday things — and that's exactly how Pandy wants to make moving and fixing a bit more fun to look at.

Technology

The app, influencers and The Pandy Experience

After the name change, Pandy invested in the technology behind the services. A fourth co-founder, Rikard Östback, joined as CTO and an app was built — one for private customers and one for companies. At the same time, the offering broadened from cleaning to moving and handyman services. The ambition was clear: a one-stop shop for everything at home and in the office.

The marketing became as colourful as the logo. Pandy worked with social media and influencers such as Bianca Ingrosso, Benjamin Ingrosso, Petra Tungården and Viktor Frisk.

It all comes together in what Pandy calls The Pandy Experience — the customer journey from booking to finished job:

  1. 1

    Be on time

It's the customer's very first impression.

  2. 2

    Look good

The Pandy jumper should be seen, even by the neighbours in the stairwell.

  3. 3

    Take care of the home

No scratches, no muddy shoes, clean up after yourself.

  4. 4

    Follow up

Every job is followed up with the customer.

  5. 5

    Just keep it real

No nonsense, just lots of kindness.

The team that built Pandy

The brand you see today exists thanks to four people who dared to make cleaning, moving and fixing something you actually want to look at.

  • Ludwig “Ludde” Hallstensson

    Co-founder — brand and product

The brain behind the visuals. The panda, the colours, the illustrations, the posters, the vans and the quoted “FLYTTLÅDOR” all bear his fingerprints. He also built much of the product and made Pandy a service company that looks like a design company.

  • Douglas Hållstrand

    Co-founder — CEO and chairman

The one who opened doors. His large network gave Pandy contacts, partnerships and a place in the right rooms — and he came up with Handy Pandy when the first name was rejected.

  • Andreas Lindström

    Co-founder

“Andy Pandy” — the co-founder whose nickname gave the company its name.

  • Rikard Östback

    Co-founder — CTO

Built the app that made booking easy.

None of the founders are involved in the company today — but the panda, the colours and the tone they created live on.

2023

A new chapter for Pandy

In the summer of 2023, Pandy AB went bankrupt. But the brand was not allowed to die. In June, the Pandy brand was bought out of the bankruptcy by Robert Malmqvist, an investor who had already been involved in Pandy AB, and the business restarted in Pandy Sales AB with the same services.

Robert is a Stockholm-based investor and owner through RPMalm Invest, with close to twenty companies in his portfolio. He believes in the brand — exactly what Pandy needed at a moment when everything could have ended. Read more about Robert.

Part of the restart was Andreas Myrén, who joined Pandy as head of sales at the end of 2022. He was the only one from the old company who carried on, and today he is CEO and the one driving the service company forward.

It happened fast. By the end of June 2023, Pandy was back with customers, with the same services, the same green panda and the same promise to do the job a little better than expected.

Since then, Pandy has grown step by step. With its own Pandys and carefully selected partners, the service company has learned what really makes a difference to customers: being on time, getting it right from the start and always standing behind the work.

1,000–2,000jobs a month

Today Pandy is a service company in Stockholm for moving, cleaning, handyman work, window cleaning and storage — for both private customers and companies. At the start of 2026, Pandy began offering logistics and furniture installation for several leading furniture and interior design companies — and today is a full-service company with around 5,000 customers and 1,000–2,000 jobs a month.

The focus is clear: to be really good at what Pandy does. Fewer services that fit perfectly rather than many that are half good. At the end of 2026, Pandy launches a brand-new booking system, built to make things as simple as possible for both customers and service providers. Pandy wants to be at the forefront and push what's possible.

The panda is still here. The green logo, the jumpers and the idea that every home and workplace deserves passion too. Just like in 2016, Pandy is about making a grey industry a little more colourful.
